About the artist

Self-taught, sea-obsessed, always on the road.

Kate on the studio floor with a palette and her paintings behind her

I'm Kate, a self-taught painter. I work in oil, watercolour and pastel, and I paint what stays with me from the road: turquoise water, palms at sunset, mountain ridges, the feeling of a long swim in the ocean.

My paintings are not copies of a single view. Each one gathers memories and photos from many places into one imagined scene, painted slowly, layer by layer. Chasing the Perfect Wave took me two years.

I don't take commissions. I paint only what I love, so every piece here is a true one-of-one.
